Angels Do Exist: Launch Event for the Cecey Foundation
The Cecey Foundation was established as a tribute to Clarine Collier-Wilson, known by loved ones as “Cecey,” who lost her life as the result of a brutal stabbing on November 27, 1990 in Washington, D.C., while walking home from work with her two daughters, three and ten. Clarine was a fun-loving mother who was taken from this earth while graciously serving the homeless and less fortunate. She was dedicated to caring for her two young daughters, Kamilla and Pareece and also her work at the Fielding Company as an office manager. Immediately following Clarine’s death, Mr. Fred Fielding of the Fielding Company took a special interest in the care of her two children and established a trust fund so they could continue the private education their mother worked so hard to provide. Communities from all over the DC metro area responded, contributing thousands to fund, which ultimately ensured that Kamilla and Pareece grew into successful young women. The Cecey fund is dedicated to Clarine Collier-Wilson and Fred Fielding to allow their legacies to live forever while providing scholarships to children who have lost a parent to violence. The fund was created by Clarine’s oldest daughter Kamilla Collier-Mullin in 2010. Kamilla was crowned Miss Black America DC Metro on November 20, 2009.
This event was a true testament that Angels Do Exist. Who's Angel will you be in 2011?
