Learn to say NO
I am HORRIBLE at saying no. I'm constantly saying yes to more and more work, which can put stress on me in other areas of life. My home becomes cluttered, I don't get to spend as much time with my daughter or husband, I miss out on events - just to name a few things.
My goal for the year 2011 is to learn to say NO when I really can't our shouldn't take on more work. I work 5 jobs - yes, FIVE jobs - but only one full time. The other four are part-time, but they can add up when I don't say no!
If you struggle with the ability to utter that little word "NO", my suggestion is to take a look at what you have going on and decide if by saying "YES" you will jeopardize other areas of your life, or take away from necessary family time. If it's something you honestly think you can manage, go ahead and say yes, but if it's going to put more stress on you, it's really ok to say NO.
