I can relate to you! I live in MN and we just got 20" of snow and now the temps are below zero....it makes it hard to get excited about exercise when all I want to do is stay warm. ha!
One thing that helped me was challenging myself to do Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred DVD everyday. I chose that DVD because it was a 20 minute workout. It was quick but it was a good workout. Since I committed to 30 days, I would update my facebook status and blog after I completed it. It was nice to have the public accountability....and believe me people checked in on me to make sure I did it.
Good luck!
You can never go wrong with walking! If it's too cold outside, move it indoors and walk the local mall, or fitness club that has an indoor track. I have a trainer that I purchased several years ago that converts my road bike into a stationary bike. I set it up in front of the t.v. and watch a fevorite show. Before you know it, I've done a 1/2hr of excercise.
Thank you, Everyone!
I was thinking about the 30 day shred video but I haven't heard a lot about it. Blogging about it does make you accountable-thank you for the reminder..maybe I'll start at the first of the year.
The local mall in my area is outside..brr but I started walking around my office building; it's a start.
For me it's about keeping it fresh. I actually just signed up for a gym that has a pool (one of the Groupon specials - 30 visits for 30 bucks). I have been running throughout the fall, but now that it's getting colder out, it's much harder to get out and get going (and I get bored easily)! I try to change it up based on the season, so I head indoors to the pool in the winter.
I also have Comcast which offers free workout videos that I can do right in my living room. Big fan of the yoga options (I think they have about 10 different levels/styles/lengths in that category alone) which is a great way for me to both strengthen and stretch.
I have tried some of the other more cardio-focused workouts, which is nice because there are options. It's great because it's not embarrassing (I am a mess when it comes to anything with choreography!) and I can always swap it next time.
