I am a working mom with two kids, Reece & Betsy ages 11 and 8. I work hard, play hard, and blog all the time! I play soccer on a women's league Friday nights, spend a lot of time playing with my kids, and just having fun!
I focus on making memories for my kids, because I know the memories my parents gave to me as a child will live with me forever!

Need to Reduce Stress? The LET IT GO
I will be the first to admit it...I can easily get stressed out...And not just about big things. Little things can kind of creep up on me and ruin my day. I struggle all the time with learning how to change my behavior when it comes to stressful situations, and sometimes a light pops on and one behavior change can change the outcome of a situation.
One behavior change that I try to focus on is being consciously aware of what I am doing. When I feel my pulse raise over some situation that I know I am going to stress about I know I have a choice. I can either go with the stress, or I can let it go. That is all it is. A DECISION. ONE DECISION. PERIOD.
Let me give you an example of how I used this on Christmas Eve as a matter of fact. My husband Mel has a second job. And he had to work Christmas Eve Day. He was supposed to be home by 7:00 PM so we could leave to join the festivities with HomeTown Heroes. I did not want to be late. This was a very special occasion and without traffic we had a good 40 minute drive. Well, Reece, Betsy, and I were all dressed and set to go and then my phone rang at 7:00. Mel was going to be 15 minutes late.
Immediately my pulse went up and I had a decision to make. I made the decision not to worry about it, not to stress. And I didn't. And we weren't late. And we had a great night.
Had I made the other decision...to stress...the night would have gone sour I think. I would have been irritated with Mel, it would have been a silent car ride, and I would have been in a bad mood for no reason.
That decision though, has to be made in a split second. You have to choose immediately to let the stress go because if you don't, it is hard to get rid of. So, the next time you are feel your pulse rise over a situation you know you are going to stress over. Make a Decision...and consciously think about what you are choosing to let go of...stress.
"Letting it go" is easier said than done but with practice it really does help you stress less. Everyone has instances where they may get easily worked up about someone, something, some situation. When you realize you can't always change that someone, something or situation it makes it so much easier to deal with it and accept is as it is. It is true if you just stop and think about how the stress your feeling is affecting everything and everyone around you it becomes easier to deal with it and move on.
