Sleepy Time Tea

It's easy to tell people they should get more sleep, but it's a little harder to actually do so in real life. The first thing I'd suggest is to attempt to go to sleep at the same time each evening - both weekdays and weekends. Since you're probably not used to doing so, use tea as a sleep aid until you body adjusts.

Chamomile, peppermint, and Valerian root are all good before-bed teas. Combine about a cup of boiling water with about a tsp of tea, or a tea bag full, and let it steep for a few minutes. Don't let it oversteep or it will become bitter. As as little natural sweetener as possible to make it taste good.

I'll even give any of these combinations to my girls. and they love it. I'll let them drink it about 30 minutes before bedtime so they can go to the bathroom one last time before getting into bed.

Turn off the lights , TV, and any other distracting things. Start counting sheep if you have to. Generally, I start saying my prayers, and a few minutes later and I'm out.

I highly recommend tea before bed. Chamomile works for me every time.!
