My name is Rachael Coe™. I am a stay at home mom to an almost 3 year old little girl, Gracie, and a little boy, Gabriel, born July of 2009. I own and run the site, Empowering Mommy.com. Empowering Mommy is an upbeat site that enables the keeper at home or mommy to be everything she can possibly be. New mommy tips, work at home information, money saving coupons and store matchups, and great products all empower mommy to make the best decisions for her family. Moms tend to have the buying power when it comes to grocery shopping, products for their children, and just about everything in their home. My goal is to equip them with everything they need to make those purchases wisely.

I was a special education teacher and child care provider before I became a full-time mommy. I have a background in Special Education, Social Science, English, and education. I also have had a few years in customer service and sales. My passions are my family, photography, and reading.

This holiday season, I am finding that unless I really connect with my children - the time is filled with so many other things. This year, I really decided that my children and I would make gifts together so that I could spend time with them as well as do something special for each family and even our neighbors.

One of my daughter's favorite things is to be cook with me in the kitchen and while she is just 3 year - there are still things she can do. Together we made Chex Muddy Buddies and many holiday cookies.

I had her shake the bag for the Chex Muddy Buddies as well as help me combine the ingredients.

I also had her add the chocolate chips/sprinkles/M'n'Ms to some of our favorite cookies. She had a blast doing this, we made special treats for family, and were able to spend precious time together.

What do you do to spend special time with your children during busy times like the holidays?
