Hello! My name is Brittany, and I am the writer behind the :Deliciously Healthy Blog. Since Jan-2010, I have lost 40lbs! I started my weight loss journey, because I have a number of health issues, and I decided that I needed to take my health into my own hands. I was diagnosed with Lupus when I was 15, and then diagnosed with RA, when I was 18. A couple years later I was diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, and low thyroid. That's 4 diagnoses in a 4yr period, if you lost count. I had also gained 76 pounds, in those 4 years. Being 76lbs over weight is unhealthy for anyone, but it was especially unhealthy for me, and my health issues. But now, after having lost 40 pounds, I'm a new, slimmer, and healthier me! This journey of mine is more than me simply wanting to wear skinny jeans. It has been a quest to becoming :Deliciously Healthy, so ALL of my dreams can come true! I'm almost half way there! With each new day, I get closer and closer to my goal of 120lbs, and becoming :Deliciously Healthy

Thanks for sharing these tips! By the thrid glass of water for the day, it can be pretty blah and boring. It's also very important to keep up the water intake year round. Most people tend to drink less during the winter and don't realize there is still the potential for dehydration.
Brittany, impressive work you are doing in your quest to become healthier!
Here's an interesting website that calculates recommended water amount based on our weight and other factors (with some medical conditions, people should drink less than 8 glasses). http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm
I have to say, I hate drinking water but do so because it's essential to my health. Dehydration is a trigger for my migraines, and I find I get tired when I don't get my 6-8 glasses in. 75% of Americans have mild dehydration which is the biggest cause of daytime fatigue, and triggers a host of other issues.
Love all your tips and use most- recognize that tall water bottle! I fill mine up twice a day to the 750 ml mark and keep it at my work desk. Only way I get my 1.5 liters in. Liked the tip about the frozen fruit in the bottle! Added flavor and it stays cold- creative!
I just realized that I'm wearing my Dr. Pepper shirt, as I talk about drinking water, lol! At least I'm wearing it, and not drinking it, right? :D
