I am on a quest to lose weight and find my running legs again. Despite being a bit overweight, I recently completed my 3rd marathon.

I am inspired at intrigued to see how you feel. I know that I have to give up sugar too.
Good Luck and I hope to follow how you are doing with the kicking sugar habit! I've been trying to kick it too for a long time. I have been going to OA on and off and it's so tough to cut it completely out! But I have done it here and there and when I have food prepared and eat before I'm starving the cravings for sugar definitely diminish and even go away... :)
Hi
It seems like you are doing a great job with exercise.
For your sweet-tooth,you might try eating the whole fruit, rather than drinking fruit juices. For instance an orange will take longer to eat, and the fiber from the whole fruit helps fill you up.
It is also important to make sure that you drink about 8 glasses of water daily, unless a doctor has told you something different. You might enjoy some nice fruit teas, that don't need sugar
I love your determination! Use caution when kicking the sweets habit. Your body will certainly have an adjustment period and may experience symptoms related to blood sugar fluctuations and/or crave sweets even more. You may have better success by weaning yourself off the sweets slowly by first cutting out treats a certain time of day for a few days then graduate to eliminating the rest. If you must snack, try more healthful picks like fruit and foods with more protein to keep you full and crave sugar less like nuts, peanut butter, granola, string cheese and milk if you have no issues with these foods.
